This workshop is a 3 hour printmaking introducing you to linocutting and carving as well as inking and printing. It will be running Thursday 20th February in my shop and open studio on The Old High Street, Folkestone - 6.30-9.30pm.

Before the class you will receive an
- Invite to my 96,000+ facebook group to share ideas, inspiration, images, etcetera.
- Invite to Pinterest boards for inspiration so you can prepare designs of your own beforehand if you would like to. Themes include floral, nude, tatoo and sea-side.

The class itself
In this workshop you will learn how to safely carve, transfer designs and test print a linocut in black and white, under the expert guidance of Fabia Goff.

Linocut is a printmaking technique, similar to 'potato printing' or 'wood carving' which can easily be practised at home. Although the basic principles of linocut are easy to learn, there are details, techniques and so on a beginner needs to know in order to produce successful prints.

During the workshop you will learn:

- How to keep safe while carving,
- How to make different marks with various tool heads,
- How to carve your first ever lino block,
(which will be started off for you so you to take away the stress of 'where to start' and making that first mark),
- Walk through of how to transfer designs onto future linoleum blocks,
- Show you how to ink your carved block and transfer a test print.

By the end of the workshop you will have a test print(s) of your print (A6 size) to take home and the knowledge and skills to continue making linocuts at home.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience. Maximum class size is 5 people.
