About Fabia

Art and design have always been at the heart of everything I do. From childhood sketches and a lifelong fascination with pattern, to my years working within the design industry, I have always been drawn to creating images, objects and textiles that tell stories.

After studying design at Brunel University and gaining experience working with established British brands including John Lewis and Laura Ashley, I developed a deep appreciation for the relationship between creativity, craftsmanship and everyday living. While my career has taken me through the world of commercial design, my passion has always been rooted in creating considered, handcrafted work that feels personal, meaningful and madeI discovered linocut printmaking through a love of traditional craftsmanship and the joy of working by hand. There is something timeless about the process — the carving of the lino, the movement of ink across the block, and the anticipation of lifting the paper to reveal the final impression. Today, through Fabia.H.Goff, I explore the space where fine art, interiors and textiles meet — transforming original artwork into limited-edition prints, surface patterns, fabrics and collectible pieces designed to bring character and artistry into everyday spaces.

My Practice: Print, Pattern & Textiles

I discovered linocut printmaking through a love of traditional craftsmanship and the joy of working by hand. There is something timeless about the process — the carving of the lino, the movement of ink across the block, and the anticipation of lifting the paper to reveal the final impression. Each print carries the marks of the maker, celebrating the beauty of process, texture and individuality.

My work is inspired by heritage arts, nature, architecture and the world around me. I draw inspiration from the decorative pattern traditions of William Morris, the expressive colour and simplicity of Henri Matisse, the bold optimism of textile and product design, and the rich visual language found across fashion, film, travel and landscape.

From the intricate details of flora and fauna to the shapes, colours and textures found in buildings, coastlines and distant places, I am constantly observing and collecting ideas. My designs combine traditional techniques with a contemporary approach to colour, composition and pattern — creating work that feels both timeless and modern.

Through Fabia.H.Goff, I explore how original printmaking can evolve beyond the traditional print, transforming hand-carved lino designs into textiles, fabrics and interior pieces that bring art into everyday life.

From Sketch to Print

Every piece begins with a sketch — sometimes a loose idea captured in the moment, sometimes a carefully developed composition. Inspiration can come from anywhere: a walk along the coast, a botanical detail, a historic building, a memory from travelling, or the everyday details that often go unnoticed.

Once a design has evolved, I transfer it onto lino and begin the carving process. Depending on the complexity of the artwork, this can take hours or even days, with every mark carefully considered.

Printing is where the design truly comes alive. I use traditional hand-printing techniques alongside my vintage Albion press, experimenting with colour, layering and texture to create artwork with depth and character. The natural variations within handmade printmaking are part of what makes each piece unique.

These original linocuts then become the foundation for limited-edition prints, textiles, fabrics and homeware, allowing the artwork to move beyond the wall and become part of the spaces and stories of everyday life.

The Folkestone Studio

In 2024, I opened my first shop and studio on The Old High Street in Folkestone — a place that has become the creative home of Fabia.H.Goff.

The studio is more than a shop; it is a working space where I design, carve, print and develop new collections. It has given me the opportunity to share my process, welcome visitors into my creative world and connect directly with the people who bring my work into their homes.

Being based in Folkestone continues to shape my practice. The coastline, changing light, historic architecture and natural surroundings of Kent provide an endless source of inspiration, influencing collections that celebrate place, memory and the stories held within our landscapes.

Exhibitions, Showcases & The Future of Fabia.H.Goff

Over recent years, Fabia.H.Goff has continued to evolve from a printmaking practice into a wider exploration of art, textiles and contemporary design. Through exhibitions, showcases and collaborations, my work has reached new audiences and explored the relationship between British craftsmanship, pattern, interiors and wearable design.

Recent showcases have included Top Drawer AW25 in London, London Design Shoreditch at House of ICON, HICCE 2025 in Hangzhou, China, and the InPRINT Printmaking Open Show at The Horsedbridge.

Looking ahead, I am excited to continue expanding the world of Fabia.H.Goff through exhibitions, collaborations and international showcases, including London Design Shoreditch at House of ICON, Shanghai Fashion Week and HICCE 2026 in Hangzhou. Alongside these opportunities, I am continuing to develop new textile collections, larger-scale artworks and design-led pieces that explore how original printmaking can live through interiors, fashion and everyday objects.

My ambition is to continue building a British design studio rooted in craftsmanship, storytelling and pattern — creating work that celebrates traditional techniques while bringing them into a contemporary world.
