Stretching from Folkestone Harbour across The Warren towards the White Cliffs of Dover, this monumental hand-carved linocut brings together the defining landmarks of Kent’s eastern coastline in a layered panoramic composition.

Featuring the harbour lighthouse, returning fishing boats, circling gulls, chalk cliffs and the wild textures of The Warren, the artwork is a collection of memories and observations gathered along a coastline that has inspired generations of artists, walkers and travellers.

This piece will be my largest linocut to date; an A1-scale work using layers of colour and multiple carved blocks in a way I have never achieved before. Building on the techniques explored in my double-layered Folkestone West Sunset linocut from last year, this new work pushes my printmaking practice further — combining greater scale, complexity and depth to capture the atmosphere of the Kent coastline.
