Reconnect with your creativity in this early evening 3-hour linocut printmaking workshop, perfectly timed so you can enjoy a leisurely lunch before crafting the evening away! Join me in my shop and open studio on The Old High Street, Folkestone.
Before the Workshop
-
Access to my 112,000+ strong Facebook group for sharing ideas, inspiration, and images.
-
Pinterest boards for inspiration, featuring festive, floral, nude, tattoo, and seaside themes — perfect if you want to prepare designs in advance.
During the Workshop
Learn the basics of linocut printmaking, a technique similar to potato printing or wood carving, with guidance from Fabia Goff. You’ll safely carve, transfer designs, and print your linocut in black ink on A4 paper.
You will:
-
Learn carving safety and mark-making techniques
-
Carve your A5 lino block (pre-prepared to make starting stress-free)
-
Transfer designs to future linoleum blocks
-
Ink your carved block and create your print
By the end of the session, you’ll have a finished A4 print to take home and the skills to continue linocutting at home.
Materials Included
-
2+ small tester linoleum blocks for practice
-
1 pre-prepared A5 lino block
-
Pencils, rulers, tracing paper, linocut tools, ink, and newsprint
-
5 A4 cards for printing in class or at home
Optional Framing
-
Your print will be on A4 paper, easy to frame
-
A3 framing options available too so it is ready and wrapped for your loved one
What to Bring
-
Ideas, creativity, and any linocut tools or pieces you’ve already started
Class Info
-
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience
-
Maximum 6 participants
-
Open to age 12+ (under 18s with adult accompaniment)
Framing
Leave your best print from the session with me, and I’ll frame it for you to collect the following week. Each piece is presented in a classic black A3 frame with a mount and secured using acid-free tape to keep your artwork protected over time.
A lovely way to celebrate your work — and the perfect excuse to return to Folkestone, the Creative Quarter, and my studio.
