An up-cycled, hand painted, one-of-a-kind centre piece for your home.
The vibrant red of this piece creates a warm contrast against the dark backdrop and tonal greens of the tropical foliage. This artwork for this piece was based on the poem by Maya Angelou, “Caged Bird” from Shaker, Why Don't You Sing? Copyright © 1983 by Maya Angelou.
This piece was hand sanded, filled, painted and designed as a one-off and the artwork painted by hand over multiple days. The design created itself as it went and the colours and depths of the flowers and birds grew with the work. I feel that the vibrancy I created was drawn out by the gold circle at the centre of the piece and symbolises the hope of the piece - that we may all be heard and be free. Finished with multiple layers of Satin Varnish this should stand the test of time as a feature in your home.
