Wednesday 16th December
Before the Workshop
To help you get inspired before you arrive, you'll receive:
-
An invitation to my 114,000+ member Facebook printmaking community, where you can share ideas, inspiration and your finished work.
-
Access to curated Pinterest inspiration boards featuring festive, botanical, coastal and tattoo-inspired themes if you'd like to prepare ideas beforehand.
During the Workshop
You'll be introduced to the rewarding process of linocut printmaking, one of the most accessible forms of traditional printmaking.
Choose from a collection of festive designs prepared especially for Christmas, or bring along a simple design of your own.
Under my guidance you'll learn:
-
How to carve lino safely and confidently
-
How different cutting tools create different marks and textures
-
How to carve your own A5 lino block
-
How to transfer designs onto lino for future projects
-
How to ink your block correctly
-
How to hand-print crisp, beautiful lino prints
To make getting started much easier, your lino block will already have the first areas prepared, removing the worry of making that first cut.
By the end of the workshop you'll have:
-
Your own carved A5 lino block
-
Practice prints
-
A finished A4 hand-printed artwork
-
The skills and confidence to continue lino printing at home
