Christmas Linocut Workshop | Festive Printmaking Class in Folkestone, Kent
Create your own handmade Christmas prints in this festive 3-hour linocut printmaking workshop at my shop and open studio in the heart of Folkestone's Old High Street. Perfect for beginners and those with some previous experience, this relaxed evening class is designed to introduce you to the rewarding art of lino printing in a friendly, small-group setting.
With a maximum of just 6 participants, you'll receive plenty of one-to-one guidance throughout the session.
Perfectly timed so you can enjoy a leisurely lunch or explore Folkestone Harbour, The Old High Street and Sunny Sands before crafting the evening away.

During the Workshop
In this beginner-friendly linocut printmaking workshop, you'll learn the traditional techniques used to carve and print your own lino block under the expert guidance of award-winning printmaker Fabia Goff.
Linocut is one of the most accessible forms of printmaking and is easy to continue at home once you've learned the basics.
During the workshop you'll learn:

How to carve lino safely

How to use different carving tools to create a variety of marks and textures

How to carve your first lino block

Where and how to begin carving (your block will be partially prepared to remove the fear of making that first cut)

How to transfer designs onto lino for future projects

How to ink your block correctly

How to produce crisp, successful lino prints by hand
By the end of the session you'll have:

Practice prints

A completed A6 linocut block

Several finished prints to take home

The skills and confidence to continue lino printing at home

About Your Tutor
Fabia Goff is an award-winning printmaker, pattern designer and artist with 17 years of printmaking experience and many years of teaching experience.
Her artwork and designs have been featured by John Lewis, Laura Ashley, Wolf & Badger, and numerous galleries and independent retailers across Kent and beyond.

About the Studio
The workshop takes place in my welcoming shop and open studio on Folkestone's historic Old High Street, just a short walk from Folkestone Harbour Arm, Sunny Sands beach, The Warren and many independent cafés, restaurants and galleries.

You don't need to be an artist to enjoy lino printing!
The workshop has been carefully designed to help complete beginners succeed. With partially prepared lino blocks, ready-to-use designs and plenty of personal guidance, you'll quickly gain confidence and discover just how enjoyable traditional printmaking can be.
